Write for US

DailyHomeDIY welcomes article pitches from freelance writers, DIY experts, home improvement professionals, and lifestyle creators who are passionate about practical living and better homes.

We review submissions based on quality, usefulness, originality, and relevance to our audience. Our readers are homeowners, renters, and DIY enthusiasts looking for real-world solutions—not generic advice.

Please note that we are a small editorial team and receive a high volume of pitches. While we aim to respond as quickly as possible, we cannot guarantee a reply to every submission.

Before pitching, please read the guidelines below carefully to understand what we publish and how to submit your idea.

How to Pitch

In all cases, please send a short outline (under 300 words) explaining what you intend to write.
Do not send a full, finished article unless requested.

Your pitch should clearly explain:

  • The topic and angle
  • Why it’s useful for DailyHomeDIY readers
  • What problem it solves or question it answers

The editor may suggest changes to help better align your idea with our audience.

What We Don’t Publish

  • Thin, generic, or AI-spun content
  • Promotional or link-building articles
  • Overly technical trade instructions that require licensing
  • Content copied or lightly rewritten from other sites

What to Include in Your Pitch

Please explain the following in your email:

  • What’s new or useful?
Why should readers care about this topic now?
  • Who is it for?
Homeowners, renters, beginners, small-space dwellers, etc.
  • What problem does it solve?
    Be specific about the takeaway.
  • What experience or sources will you use?
First-hand experience, expert input, or reliable references are strongly encouraged.
  • Your background
Include a short bio and links to 2–3 published articles (if available).
  • Visual ideas (optional)
Original photos, diagrams, or step images are a plus.

The Use of AI

At DailyHomeDIY, trust and authenticity matter.

AI may be used for research or idea support, but:

  • Articles must be written by humans
  • Pitches and content that appear fully AI-generated may be rejected
  • Original experience and clear authorship are required

If you’re pitching for the first time, please include proof of your writing history so we can verify your work.

Comment & Opinion Pieces

We occasionally publish opinion or experience-based articles, including:

  • Personal DIY lessons
  • Home organization philosophies
  • Sustainable living perspectives

A strong comment piece:

  • Shares a clear, thoughtful viewpoint
  • Is concise (600–900 words max)
  • Avoids jargon and adds real examples
  • Offers value, not just opinion

These are generally unpaid unless otherwise agreed.

Payment & Rights

Payment, if applicable, is discussed before commissioning.
All accepted articles must be original and unpublished elsewhere.
